Closed problems versus open problems
A robotics challenge has a defined task, a rulebook and a correct-enough answer. Real life does not. Learning to act when the brief is missing is the harder and rarer skill, and it can only be practised where the outcome is genuinely uncertain.

The kit is the ceiling
Kit-based programmes are bounded by what the kit can do and what the licence permits. A venture is bounded by the learner's imagination and their willingness to talk to a customer.

What we borrowed from engineering
Iteration, measurement and honest post-mortems are engineering habits, and we keep them: every cycle ends with the numbers reviewed and the next version specified.

Where robotics wins
For a child who loves mechanisms, hardware and competition structure, robotics is excellent, and the two combine well.
The verdict
Robotics is an outstanding closed-problem discipline. Real-venture enterprise training is where a child learns to work when the problem is open, the answer is unknown and a real customer decides.

- Coding club vs entrepreneurship
A coding club teaches a child to build software. An entrepreneurship club teaches a child to find a problem worth solving, build something for it and sell it. Coding is the narrower, deeper skill; enterprise is the broader capability that decides whether any skill gets used. For Grades 6 to 9, enterprise usually transfers further.
- STEM vs enterprise education
STEM programmes deliver a curriculum and measure completion. Enterprise education sets a real commercial task and measures what the child actually produced and sold. STEM answers 'has this content been covered'; enterprise training answers 'can this child create value'. The second question is the one employers and universities now ask.
